About Me
Hi! I’m Lyrah Grace Fosl, MPH, and I’ve worked for the past 10 years in the fields of conflict resolution, youth development, prison abolition, and health equity. I spent most of my career developing, innovating, and implementing programs that support young people and the adults who work with them in reclaiming power over their education, their healthcare, and their lives. I am a skilled facilitator, mediator, and program consultant with a long history of navigating highly complex systems and building sustainable projects with visible impact. I’m currently based in Philadelphia, PA.
I work with individuals, pairs, and teams to address the root causes of conflict and the systems that are failing in programs, projects, or relationships. I believe that when handled with grace, conflict is a gift that allows us to surface the solid building blocks we need for our work. It teaches us better communication strategies and pushes us to make necessary changes to avoid burning out or giving up. I do not believe in over-complicating conflicts or moving “at the speed of trust.” Instead I believe in getting things done by facing facts, fearlessly showing up together, and putting our voices and our values first.
Over my years in this work, I have seen teams near and dear to my heart dissolve due to systematic conflict avoidance, lack of supportive structures, and failure to take a deep breath and get on the same page. Now more than ever—with the extreme urgency we all feel from our communities in crisis—it is so important that we come to our collaborative work with honesty and grit in order to tackle our disagreements, implement systems that (actually) work, and come out stronger on the other side. This is the work I’m committed to doing alongside you.
